The Kathy Ivins Fund was created to both perpetuate Kathy's memory and to provide a vehicle to, in her memory, be a catalyst for events and to support various groups/organizations that promote strong communities, healthy lifestyles and economic development through organized fitness activities. In her own life, Kathy lived this through her involvement with Seal Team, Richmond Sportsbackers, the Marathon Training Team and through her community involvement with community-wide organizations like the Chamber of Commerce.
Kathy passed away in July, 2010 – so the Fund has not been around for very long. However, it has already received contributions from hundreds of individuals and organizations and has already received a large gift so as to preserve it as an endowed Fund. As the Fund grows, it will seek to be a catalyst for events – and, hopefully, one day, with one/some named in Kathy’s honor – and a source of support for other events/organizations who are seeking to do things consistent with the Fund’s goals and purposes.
The Fund is managed by The Community Foundation (wwwtcfrichmond.org). To contribute to the Fund, you may contribute by sending a check made payable to THE KATHY IVINS FUND to:
